Staying Organized:

Backing Up:

Before you close that program and end your emailing for the day, BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP your work. Did you know? 1 cent of data back up is worth $2500 of data entry.

    • Your computer runs more slowly than usual
    • Your computer stops responding or often locks up
    • Your computer crashes and/or restarts on its own
    • Your applications are not working correctly
    • Your disk drives are inaccessible
    • Unusual error messages
    • Distorted dialog boxes or menus

You wouldn’t put your file cabinet out on the sidewalk and leave the drawers open. So practice safe computing.
    • Keep that Anti Virus on and up to date.
    • Passwords
        1. Combination of letters (upper/lower case) and numbers
        2. Don’t use your birth date, your children’s or pet’s name
        3. Never, never, never use your social security number.
        4. Don’t use the same password over websites
        5. Don’t use a word from the dictionary. Make up your own.
        6. DO write down passwords and user names.
